Not Returning to St Mary's in 2026
If your child is not returning to St Mary's School next year could you please email bellp@lism.catholic.edu.au marking it attention Lisa, stating which school you child will be attending in 2026. Many thanks, Lisa
Thank you to all the staff of our amazing school for continuing to work hard and do the absolute best job of keeping things running smoothly while I have been on leave. Thanks also to Warren Niethe who was able to juggle his calendar and be at St Mary’s to provide support and step in for duties etc as needed. I look forward to being back next term. Due to the changes that have taken place at the end of the term, it has been decided to postpone the family gathering this term. We look forward to organising something next term. Have a great break.
Lisa
Marybells continues next term. The dates are October 21st and 28th. Marybells Graduation will take place the morning of October 28th.
As we approach the holiday period, our roads become busier with people travelling to enjoy the amazing area that we are lucky enough to call home. Please take extra care while you are out and about. Remind young people about being safe when crossing roads as well as practising safe riding skills.
Follow bicycle road rules including:
- ride to the left on footpaths
- give pedestrians right of way on footpaths
- watch out for cars entering or leaving driveways
- wear a correctly fitted bicycle helmet – it’s the law
Public Speaking Competition 2025
We were so impressed with all of the speeches from participants in our Public Speaking Competition! It was clear that students had spent a lot of time crafting and perfecting their speeches, and taking on feedback from their teachers to improve them.
As judges, we were particularly impressed by the techniques and vocabulary used, including plenty of humour, audience engagement, and creativity.
The students must also be commended on their respect, support and encouragement as an audience. Each year we see more and more participants, and it is wonderful to watch the growing interest in this competition!
A huge congratulations to our finalists from each grade who represented St Mary’s so well at St John Paul College.
Year 3: Meilani Taylor (topic: If I had three wishes)
Year 4: Eloise Harper (topic: Let me tell you about my family)
Year 5: Aaliyah Gale (topic: I love it when…)
Year 6: Nitesh Grimson (topic: Five of my favourite words)
Congratulations to Nitesh who was awarded 2nd place! Only half a point between the first 3 places!
We are so proud of all of you for being not only talented writers and speakers but also for being brave enough to get up in front of an unknown audience and present yourself so well. This is a skill that many adults struggle with!
Thank you to our parents and families who supported our students on the day and assisted with transport.

We are a Food Allergy Aware School. Your cooperation would be appreciated in talking with your children about the importance of not sharing food or putting any food items close to another child. We are requesting that families talk to students about the importance of not playing with food and sitting to eat.
