Message from the Principal

St Mary’s is a contemporary Catholic school that has been serving the Bellingen Community for over a century. St Mary’s is a welcoming school where the unique dignity of every child is respected and valued and this is the very nature of Catholic education. This provides the framework for our students to develop tolerance and respect for others and be instilled with a sense of individual responsibility.

St Mary's Primary School offers students a quality Catholic education based on the teaching of the Church and within the context of a strong faith community, infused with the Gospel values of hope, faith and justice.  We have high expectations for all members of our school community. Our teachers work together to deliver high-impact instruction at exactly the right time and point of need. We provide quality education that is both purposeful & personalised, based on a curriculum designed to enable all students to experience success as they move along the continuum of learning.  You can expect your child to be nurtured, inspired, challenged and guided towards achieving success in not only all areas of the primary curriculum but also spiritually, emotionally and socially. Students will build optimism and faith in themselves and the future, where ethical thinking builds individual responsibility so that they leave our school as confident and positive contributors to the local and global community.

St Mary’s encourages all families to become active members of our school community and involved in the education of our children. Our P&F group provides a welcoming introduction to our school community as well as a valuable structure for harnessing the skills of parents and enabling them to work with staff towards shared educational goals.

St Mary’s has the potential to be a wonderful adventure full of enriching experiences and culminating in rewarding achievements. The staff members of St Mary’s look forward to sharing this journey with you and your child.
